Since december 2012 Battlestations: Midway is supported by GameSpy no longer. The only one possibility for Midway players is GameRanger. Please visit www.gameranger.com, download Gameranger client and make new account. You can find other Midway players in the Gameranger rooms. BS:M patch 1.1.1 is required to play online battles. Iowa Mission Pack and Midway Modders Mappacks 1 and 2 are recommended.

Finally I can give something back to this great community. Found my old Mustang Pack DLC intact on my old PC.

Just put it in your AppData>Local>Microsoft>XLive>DLC

It would be really nice if someone could upload the other 2 map pack DLC's. Seeing as how even if we want to legally purchase them there is no way to with the demise of GFWL Marketplace.

Doesnt work, looks like it needs some modifiying which ill give a go at later, Should be able to makeshift something since we have the mpaks for the units now

Damn that's what I feared would happen, I tried to mess around with mpaks and just put the class files in directly in the install folder but that didn't work. Well at least all the files are there. Hopefully you could get it working, there's no other way to acquire this DLC now and no one should miss out on it now.

oh man I would love to see this, I have made a "super yamato" already with machine gun cannons and launches kikkas and even dives like a submarine which is my profile pic (insert troll face here), so I can't wait to try that with the super yamato ag. I'm sure I'll try to make it work but not sure if it will work. do you have your non-dlc mpaks? Game_Global, GVMainMenu, and GGame_OnInit have to be edited to add units so if you have those they might be useful. if you look in vehicleclasses they might be there and that would make it a lot easier to add these.

The unfortunite thing is they "dont have" the required files so we cant "drag and drop" to make them work, As far as I can tell they dont overwrite those files and add the lines. It appears we need to create them ourselves. If said is true I'd like to know where those lines of code are for the unit stats.

I'd love my Alaska back though.

I'm sure the code is somewhere...it has to be.
EDIT-could it be in that mpkg file? How do you open those? Bsp ripper has a button to unpack mpkg but it doesn't do anything, does anyone know how to unpack them?

After digging around it turns out its "most likely" a mac type file. so if anyone has a mac they should try opening up the file and extracting the contents

What do you mean by that, since the source of the file isn't from a Mac OS, unless you're implying the game itself was made on a mac? I'm a bit confused here.

Or are there some additional game files I need to upload? I just assumed that once you have the DLC files in the XLive folder it would work but its more complicated than that isn't it?

Im saying if you do a quick google search on that file type it relates to a mac install file.

The only other thing i could think of is to upload your GV main menu mpak and the GGame__OnInit.mpak to see if it did overwrite those files with the unit entries

Just as feared it didint overwrite the files so unless we crack the mpkg file we wont get the DLC units converted to a mod.

OR someone creates all the file entries (as in stats in the vehicleclass.lua) the models are there but the stats/coding for it is not. I dont have the knowledge to otherwise id do it myself.

  • Legendary Da : I had guessed it was about the wrong area, though I still wondered why it had been removed. Thanks for taking your time to make something better for the community. Take as much time as you require, though; life still comes first.
  • N_Trainz : Actually it was removed by me for 2 reasons; 1. was it was uploaded in the wrong area and 2. the installer didn't autp - detect the disk version, only the Steam version (since that is what I have). Going to remake it so if you won't mind a but longer wat that'll be appreciated

I finally got it working, and just figured out how to make the updater now since it'll be two parts with one containing the misc files and the other mostly the mpak files. It'll be a stand - alone DLC mod just like the Bismarck Mission Pack was. Like I said I plan to have it all completed and uploaded by this weekend
