Guys what you thinking about concentrate on finishing first mappack. I'm in Game Lobby often, probably any evening, and im trying to explain and answer to all these guys asking Why i can't... When mappack will be available...  etc etc...

That's the reason i decided to start this thread. Personally i'm thinking all these ideas about new units (except spacefighters and jets lol) ships planes are great, but now we should concentrate on first mappack. Without any new units, just 3 new maps for all Midway players. I think good idea for third map is Nemesisgr Battle of Thermopyle, but whatever. We should finish this first. And I know gaming-for-dummies is trying to discover some important things like night textures and Briefing, but maybe its good idea to help him a little with creating third map ?

Katarya and Tipsy - that's the question for both of You. Are you ready to make third map ? After this mappack we can experiment any way we want, but ... pls understand me and all these guys and their hopes ab

Sorry EST was a little bit busy enjoying the fun parts of modding units. And I can help gaming about fixing briefing bugs, its just a guess on my part I believe it can work since I changed the briefing of an SP map. Well what is the third map?

Well since its Surigao we don't even need to change placement of airfields and shipyards but perhaps what they contain. Adding the ships probably will not be a problem either. I believe that this map can be made in 3-4 days and be fun at the same time.

I still haven't gave you my SP map, I still got a single kink with it by not being able to change the darn name of the map, but other then that its finished.

Hmm 3rd map, I still haven't taken my quick break ao ill get back to you on that by Friday ad but it all seriousness I still wanna take my break, been modding and figuring out stuff all last week and half of this week and its usually not fun with the game crashing 3 out of the 4 tries of getting something to work and I need to get my life back ag. Oh sorry if I have made a mod crazy Katayra ag in fact Katayra if you want you can tackle the 3rd map while Gamming fixes up the Tokyo express one.

This map will surely be successful and I just need to do to improve a little later to find how to add these Briefings and you can already do mappack.

Well adding a briefing made from scracth is very time consuming and hard work.However there are good news.I believe that the games maximum of 8 players can be increased and played with more then 8 though this is only just a prediction of me analzying global date.

Now this is not very fun moving the islands is hell but I will dupe the islands to the middle of the map then put airfields and shipyards on them but are you sure this is the map you want before I start serious map making?

Deadline? As much as everyone wants to play new maps and what nots asap, dont forget we aren't getting paid to do this and many of us have other things to do besides mod BSM ao

well, the deadline doesn't have to be short ^^

i have to gree with tipsy that a deadline is a little strange on a project that basicly done by (few) volenteers

also i wanted to start creating the next map

ist just that Ghostface and his program have great potential for level design as well seeing that islands are also made up off mmod model files
so making you own islands should make level designing a lot better and easyer

i was (am) waiting for him to get that program

and i'm waiting for becton to give tokyo express night effects

so thats why i haven't started on the third map yet

but i'm happy Katarya is gonna make it for us

  • Legendary Da : Hi everyone, I have one (or two) quick question about BS:M modding. I try to figure out sp mapmaking, and my first act on it was to convert a MP map to SP. However I can only play as Allies in those maps. What parameter do I have to change to play those maps as Japanese in the respective map .mpak (And where is the parameter I have to change?)?

  • The Dictator : Makeo67 i've explained how to find the unused slots in the topic and the mmod2txm it's a program that has been shared. However there aren't so many ships with unused platforms and sme of them are in wrong positions and for move them you need to know how to change the mmod file. But if you know how to do it you can make new platfors as you want. I've shared the south dakota disposition and this one is the most intersting in my opinion

  • Mokeo67 : I tried changing the bogue class carrier to a yorktown class in the phillipene sea mission and one of two things happened. The mission either didnt change or the game crashed.

  • Axis_Crusher : specific mission’s 3_scene mpak file by working on the .lua file. There is where the bonus unit is actually added into the mission (by the script). I haven't tried it myself so good luck.
  • Axis_Crusher : I assume you are talking about the bonus units that you unlock for certain missions by completing previous ones (like the B - 25’s in the 2nd Battle of Guadalcanal). The bonus units are unlocked by completing certain objectives in the campaign - so that is linked to your campaign progress. Since that cannot be altered you must look at the missiontree.lua file. This is where the unit will show up unlocked on the mission screen. There are references to allunitslock. Also you will have to edit the
  • Mokeo67 : Thank you I will look in this file. I did unlock all the campaign missions, all you have to do is delete the text after 'prerequisite' and it will unlock. But I havent figured out how to unlock the bonus units.
  • Axis_Crusher : I also prefer it being off, just as most of the BSM community. Most players, however prefer repair to be enabled so that is what we should do. Most of our maps it will be disabled through the script however. If you want to play with the game's repair settings you can find it under shipglobals.lua
