Since december 2012 Battlestations: Midway is supported by GameSpy no longer. The only one possibility for Midway players is GameRanger. Please visit www.gameranger.com, download Gameranger client and make new account. You can find other Midway players in the Gameranger rooms. BS:M patch 1.1.1 is required to play online battles. Iowa Mission Pack and Midway Modders Mappacks 1 and 2 are recommended.

Modeling Skinning and creating maps

Currently we are modding, skinning, and making new maps so I though that a progress thread should be appropriate.
I'll post all my progress with map creating, modeling, and skinning here.
August 6: Fully changed B5Ns texture not partially but everything. Cannot post picture as problem with website will post ASAP. Changed dimentsions of Yamato to Bismarck dimensions, success ,no crash. Finished rough draft of new map. Tesing failed. Trying to work out problems. Put 2 different textures on a ship covering fully everything. Duplicated unit attempt ended in failure. Unit create attemp 2 failed. B-17s made launchable from carriers.
August 7. : Map test 3 failure. Railgun Yamato made. Unit create attempts 2,3,4, and 5 have failed. Search about opening mmod files has borne no fruit.

Looks like we can do really much when i look on pictures some guys can work on length and something and others can build maps and also others can change name of ships, I´m very thinking that we can do this as soon as possible to run for tests on a map.

I just changed texture to gray since Bismarck was gray and no I can't open mmod files with 3D max.

that ship on picture is smaller u told,so ur work at textures.but i dont understand for the moment planes is only texture changed i See. but that ship ? is smaller as original Yama so which type of class is it ?

I can change textures, turrets, and anything on the ship itself but not the ship which is the problem. She can look like Bismarck in anyway but shape for which I believe I need to open mmod files and change them.

8 main turrets sure but I need to replace 6 in since the turret locations seems to be hidden in the mmod file for Yamato. So everything goes to the mmod file. About 8 main turrets I suggest you check Tipsy's Modelers and Skinners Unite!!! thread theres a pic there.

Welcome to the club too. Sadly my first attempt at creating a unit has failed but I will try again in around 5-10 mins. I'm trying to make an A7M by copying A6M and changing a few things like the parameters, guns,  and texture.

  • Legendary Da : I had guessed it was about the wrong area, though I still wondered why it had been removed. Thanks for taking your time to make something better for the community. Take as much time as you require, though; life still comes first.
  • N_Trainz : Actually it was removed by me for 2 reasons; 1. was it was uploaded in the wrong area and 2. the installer didn't autp - detect the disk version, only the Steam version (since that is what I have). Going to remake it so if you won't mind a but longer wat that'll be appreciated

I finally got it working, and just figured out how to make the updater now since it'll be two parts with one containing the misc files and the other mostly the mpak files. It'll be a stand - alone DLC mod just like the Bismarck Mission Pack was. Like I said I plan to have it all completed and uploaded by this weekend
