Since december 2012 Battlestations: Midway is supported by GameSpy no longer. The only one possibility for Midway players is GameRanger. Please visit www.gameranger.com, download Gameranger client and make new account. You can find other Midway players in the Gameranger rooms. BS:M patch 1.1.1 is required to play online battles. Iowa Mission Pack and Midway Modders Mappacks 1 and 2 are recommended.

Opinion: World of Warships needs help from BSP developers

This is a funny thought, since multiplayer BSP died for Mac users, I've been playing WoW. It's not bad, but it relatively one dimensional compared to BSP. The carrier/plane aspect is terrible, WoW is only good for BB, CA, CL and DD battling and it's fairly good. But man, they could use help from the folks who constructed BSP, on almost every level. Or better yet, it would be great to see BSP reborn incorporating the winning ideas of both games. Again, this is just musing.

There are a few things I like about WoWs that if included in BSP would have made it a 5/5 rating:
-Manual aiming of the guns (sure BSM had it, but the way it was implemented in WoWs is the superior method)
-Torpedo salvoes (instead of launching them one by one over he course of multiple seconds - plus setting the spread yourself)
-Torpedo aim assist (maybe nerf it a bit by giving you a general idea of where to aim, but still requiring your skill to hit)
-Spotting (Yes, BSP does have visual ranges and that stuff, but I mean if I am in a DD hiding behind an island I should npt be spotted as in BSM/BSP)

That said WoWs is strictly a ship game so one cannot blame them for their carrier gameplay and excluding many other things.
I played World of Warplanes and its mechanics sucked! War Thunder's arcade mode is PERFECT for aircraft gameplay.

Taking this into account I think both teams could learn a lot from each other. EIDOS does not exist any more, but one can only hope for a third Battlestations title  in the future.

If one could get a decent engine such as Unigine and incorporate the best elements from WoWs, WT and BSM/BSP you'll have a KILLER game.

  • The Dictator : Makeo67 i've explained how to find the unused slots in the topic and the mmod2txm it's a program that has been shared. However there aren't so many ships with unused platforms and sme of them are in wrong positions and for move them you need to know how to change the mmod file. But if you know how to do it you can make new platfors as you want. I've shared the south dakota disposition and this one is the most intersting in my opinion
