Since december 2012 Battlestations: Midway is supported by GameSpy no longer. The only one possibility for Midway players is GameRanger. Please visit www.gameranger.com, download Gameranger client and make new account. You can find other Midway players in the Gameranger rooms. BS:M patch 1.1.1 is required to play online battles. Iowa Mission Pack and Midway Modders Mappacks 1 and 2 are recommended.

As some of you know, I am working on a new mmod2txm converter written in Python. This will help pave the way to a full mmod converter. I have made significant progress in mmod research. Here is my first major milestone, integer conversion!

EDIT: the txm shown here is generated from Velcor's tools; I was  demonstrating how to convert integers. Btw, theoretically, new points can be added by simply  using the float converter.

ok i tried importing found one of the thousand problems ok the models is too small (some models are like that) so it crashes the game

ok let me explain... so i exported a model from WoW as a test, so next step is i converted it successfully to mmod then test it in the game it crashes, so again on my second test i tried to change the scale of the model then successfully converted it to mmod my base mmod is the brooklyn.mmod btw...  then test it again then it crash crash crash  crash it made me mad for a few days so stopped it for a while and just finish my homework from school also i analyzed the cleveland1945.mmod that SurgeonSasha made, I also extracted the .mpak file and found lots of lots of textures which makes it difficult to import because of the number of textures i really don't know what is causing the crash if we could fix that crash the next problem is the textures of the objects.
so i'm thinking one of the reason of the crash is the model is too small... but other reasons is i don't know if i can get my hands on dxg's premium mod it can give me an idea on how to fix it.

well its not impossible i can export them properly, complete with their children models
what do you mean by points? sorry i'm not that an expert at codes and stuff... ac also i need the primitive files of tone to complete my work can you provide me that? so after we figure out how to fix the crash maybe we can replace the old models of BSP and make them more historically accurate. ab which is still my plan

If I can make a suggestion. Before trying to run you must learn to walk first.
Instead of importing a fully-fledged model such as a ship or plane, why not import something as simple as a bomb, gun or building?

That's how I am progressing with the AWP maps: Duel, then Escort, Siege, Competitivr then finally IC.

That's just me, but maybe it can work for you too.

maybe... right now i'm at school later i'll be back to work on those models i'll try first (again) guns (aa or main turret)

I can provide the tone .primatives files but you need the .model, .visual, and a master XML script which puts all parts of the model together (guns,catapults,deck objs,etc). The other data is packed into gameparams.data and assets.bin. Don't ask me how to unpack them.
EDIT: YamatoFavor, read the Ship-Plane-Building-Exporter-Setup pdf for info on creating points in the model.
The pdf comes with the LW plugin.

ok great please provide me the tone files please include the folders in japan (parts of the tone only because yeah i cant load the ship without the other files the exporter crashes, ok let me see what i can do there ab

Also you just include the .model, .visual and etc as well all important files of the ship (textures so on and so far)
then i'll try to import (again) with 1 texture or so... i'll try this with the destroyer shimakaze or kagero.

Also i'll post some pictures soon of the models i edited.

I cannot include model and visual because they are packed into assets.bin and possibly binarized.

like this, i need this ones no need to extract just send me the folder and texture i'll tell you if something goes wrong... i just need file like those with the texture of tone and it will be fine as for the children models its very possible they just used the children objects from the past versions or should i say from other jap ships such as that Myoko and Mogami

  • Legendary Da : Hi everyone, I have one (or two) quick question about BS:M modding. I try to figure out sp mapmaking, and my first act on it was to convert a MP map to SP. However I can only play as Allies in those maps. What parameter do I have to change to play those maps as Japanese in the respective map .mpak (And where is the parameter I have to change?)?

  • The Dictator : Makeo67 i've explained how to find the unused slots in the topic and the mmod2txm it's a program that has been shared. However there aren't so many ships with unused platforms and sme of them are in wrong positions and for move them you need to know how to change the mmod file. But if you know how to do it you can make new platfors as you want. I've shared the south dakota disposition and this one is the most intersting in my opinion

  • Mokeo67 : I tried changing the bogue class carrier to a yorktown class in the phillipene sea mission and one of two things happened. The mission either didnt change or the game crashed.

  • Axis_Crusher : specific mission’s 3_scene mpak file by working on the .lua file. There is where the bonus unit is actually added into the mission (by the script). I haven't tried it myself so good luck.
  • Axis_Crusher : I assume you are talking about the bonus units that you unlock for certain missions by completing previous ones (like the B - 25’s in the 2nd Battle of Guadalcanal). The bonus units are unlocked by completing certain objectives in the campaign - so that is linked to your campaign progress. Since that cannot be altered you must look at the missiontree.lua file. This is where the unit will show up unlocked on the mission screen. There are references to allunitslock. Also you will have to edit the
  • Mokeo67 : Thank you I will look in this file. I did unlock all the campaign missions, all you have to do is delete the text after 'prerequisite' and it will unlock. But I havent figured out how to unlock the bonus units.
  • Axis_Crusher : I also prefer it being off, just as most of the BSM community. Most players, however prefer repair to be enabled so that is what we should do. Most of our maps it will be disabled through the script however. If you want to play with the game's repair settings you can find it under shipglobals.lua
