I am currently looking at the files for bsp I dont have bsm for pc yet but will look into it as well when I get it at this time i am haveing graphics card issues and cannot test work at this time but will we fixing this issue here soon anyway I guess this is the modding section and by looking at the scripts to bsp it wont be hard to make something happen I am looking more toward the singleplayer aspect of the game but with most games it will work both ways i have fount the weapons files for the game and will be able to adjust them to more accurate powers and distances such as battleships you should be able to wipe a destroyer out before they can even get close enough to shoot at you in a destoyer but in using a destroyer most have 5 inch guns and I am not satified with there performance  so most of the guns will be modified also the destroyer gained its name for a reason there armor in the game is not good enough in one of the missions you are in there is a destroyer named laffey this ship is now ship memorial in charleston sc and is an awesome vessel the story behind this ship is simple it took several torpedo hits was dive bombed by 5 planes all scoring hits many of its crew died but it still made it back for repairs and sailed another day and was upgraded before be decommission as a ship memorial now you all know 2 torpedo hits and your destroyer is gone so this is another thing I will change there armor a bit if I can make it all work together I should be able to make something work nicely and add some nice gameplay especially for the island capture modes adding in all the planes and ships you cant normally get I will keep you posted and if it is ok with the administor of the site once I start i will open a new thread for this.

what is that exactly you had it listed as a templete I am kinda lost there? I dont have bsm yet but will get it soon I have done some extensive modding of bsp I need to get a new graphics card once i do I will test it if it works ever plane and ship bomb and gun has been modified in some way but as I said it has not been tested I am sure it will work fine though the scripting is quite simple really easy to read but if I can make all of this work it will be more for the island capture mode but will more than likely work for the game as well since the vehicles file is common through the game I have been modding for along time I dont want to get anyones hopes up but if it all works out for me I will have it tested this weekend here is what i have done so far

SHIPS
armor improved
flak,machinegun,cannon ranges and powers adjusted accordingly
planes capacity increased for cruisers and battleships and can launch 2 at a time now
capture power for island capture is modified
cost of all units is greatly decreased (at the price now you can have about 20 battleships) for your aloted 1200 credits
torpedo speeds increased
torpedo stock piles are increased greatly

SUBS
more torpedos
more air and lest time to recharge
more armor

PLANES
some are faster to be more accurate
more armor
turbos last much longer and takes lest time to recover
guns are more powerful according to caliber
planes are all round tuffer accourding to there makeup example B17 is like a tank like they were

WEAPONS
artillery,torps,bombs,flak etc are all more powerful to compensate for armor increases
ranges are much better


N O T E :::::::
some of the things I tried to stay closer to be accurate and for the most part I did but some things I changed just for the playablity such as subs seams like you are right where you want to be when you need air and it is the worst possible place
and like the torpedos I just added more for the simple reason the way this mod is intended to work it will be made for knock down drag out fights lasting hours if you let it as I said this is not a realism mod by no means but some aspects are better and make the game funner once I this mod working as I would like it if I can find them I might do some skinning of the ships planes and what not seams by the script is it very forgiving to the models so that is a in the future deal

well anyway that is where i am at and hopefully the admin of this site doesnt get mad about my biography

ok here is an update on my work once I figure out how to take screenshots and I figure out the modding deal up top as talked about by the admin I will make it more informative but all of the above as explained aboved worked flawlessly in island capture and it works equally for the ai as well I tryed to take a print screen shot but didnt work anyway I had 6 battle ships 6 destroyers 15 pt boats 5 cruisers 4 squads od b17s 4 c47,8 wildcat 2 dauntless squads and still had 500 credits left to spend now your ranges are more accurate to the gun caliber as for the ships you have to completely destroy them a battle ship versus a destoyer is a bad thing now more than likely your destoyer will get destroyed but you will be able to hold it together long enough to deliver a devistating blow to the ship battle ships are key with this mod and there range for artillery is great so you better use it before they all end up at your door step this happened to me!

How to take screenshots ? Press Printscreen on keyboard and press New then Paste in any graphic editor like Photoshop. This works with MS Paint too. Second way is - capturing program called Fraps. You can easy capture movies or screenshots using one button.

are we also talking about BSM? cause BSM only usses A few mission based cenarios for multiplayer that would not fit with aditional range

think "battle of samar"for instance

If the yamato can fire further it can destroy the CV"s without even moving ( in theory, so could the Yap CA's)
Likewise the 2 New yorks would be able to hammer the yamato right from the start
completely ruining the entire cenario, making it last for 1 minute tops (til all CV's are destroyed)


The gameplay isnt what's the problem in BSM, its the limited amount of maps and units in multiplayer that needs to be adressed
gameplay is fine: its the reason all of us love BSM to begin with.

Last days i upgraded our forum - so now we have little different (and final) structure. There are separate forums for Battlestations: Pacific and Battlestations: Midway, and they contains special subforums (with unlimited number of topics - of course) for modders. So Pacific modders has their own forum and Midway modders too.

In other hand - i think we should finish our discussion here - because this is sticky topic with an offer for modders. Now they can launch their own website (corner) using our domain. Of course it's free. Our templates for modders and clans are available in community menu.

Of course feel free to add new topics anytime You want start new thread.

BTW - Agreed with You Gamming-for-dummys,, Midway needs new maps, not only modding existing maps. But Pacific is another story ab

Oooo sounds better then just spaming BB's and waiting it out to make a counter attack ^^ but just because one has a larger force doesnt always make the game funner. Speaking of your modding, have you ever come across anything in codding for BS:P and what not for IC to add an actual landing and take off feature for planes? instead of instant spawning and unspawning it would make the game 25% much better. Same goes for instaspawn Ships.


@ EST_PL Such map people ^^ I would enjoy more maps for BSM but also mostly more new kinds units just as well =P *Come on give me a gearing class I dunno why just do it =P*

Hello and sorry everyone it has been awhile I mod many different games and sometines dissappear for awhile but I have not forgotten you all I prommissed you all mods and actually I made 4 I made the IC mod I spoke of I made an american campaign cheater mod and a japanese cheater mod for the senarios for the people that have already played it and want just a bit more I have looked at midway but I have it and if needed I will mod it as for bsp once I get started here again I will make more mods I am still fairly fresh on coding I  have been coding and decifereing 3 different games so hope to ether have the mods uploaded to my website or maybe here if I am allowed to that is

I guess by introduction you are wanting to know what they do?

ok the american cheater is just that if it has a gun it does 10 times the damage example: wildcat versious a japanese destroyer wildcat wins with nothing more than the machine guns the japanese version is the same deal this is ment for single player play in the campaigns I have no idea why I made it but I did

the Island capture mod is made for sp as well but what it does is modifys every plane,boat,bomb,gun to make the more accurate in there dame and distance they can be fired from accurately also added more ammo for torpedos and many other things as well, changed the price of everything 1200 command points will give you a fairly large army but the good thing is I did the research on the weapons on the ships and distances and damage so for example the yamoto agains the dakota class you can take the yamoto but not easy at all and most times not at all since it had 18 guns it would deal more damage but it is a good fight it will not be a 2 shot death you will have to battle it out fix your ship many times and it is like this the whole way keeps you busy and it is much better.

the last mod I have no idea what happened to it cause my pc crashed but I was actually experimenting with adding a batte ship in place of a cruiser in the one the campaign missions and to the best of my knoledge I succeeded!

  • Legendary Da : Hi everyone, I have one (or two) quick question about BS:M modding. I try to figure out sp mapmaking, and my first act on it was to convert a MP map to SP. However I can only play as Allies in those maps. What parameter do I have to change to play those maps as Japanese in the respective map .mpak (And where is the parameter I have to change?)?

  • The Dictator : Makeo67 i've explained how to find the unused slots in the topic and the mmod2txm it's a program that has been shared. However there aren't so many ships with unused platforms and sme of them are in wrong positions and for move them you need to know how to change the mmod file. But if you know how to do it you can make new platfors as you want. I've shared the south dakota disposition and this one is the most intersting in my opinion

  • Axis_Crusher : specific mission’s 3_scene mpak file by working on the .lua file. There is where the bonus unit is actually added into the mission (by the script). I haven't tried it myself so good luck.
  • Axis_Crusher : I assume you are talking about the bonus units that you unlock for certain missions by completing previous ones (like the B - 25’s in the 2nd Battle of Guadalcanal). The bonus units are unlocked by completing certain objectives in the campaign - so that is linked to your campaign progress. Since that cannot be altered you must look at the missiontree.lua file. This is where the unit will show up unlocked on the mission screen. There are references to allunitslock. Also you will have to edit the
  • Mokeo67 : Thank you I will look in this file. I did unlock all the campaign missions, all you have to do is delete the text after 'prerequisite' and it will unlock. But I havent figured out how to unlock the bonus units.
  • Axis_Crusher : I also prefer it being off, just as most of the BSM community. Most players, however prefer repair to be enabled so that is what we should do. Most of our maps it will be disabled through the script however. If you want to play with the game's repair settings you can find it under shipglobals.lua
