Since december 2012 Battlestations: Midway is supported by GameSpy no longer. The only one possibility for Midway players is GameRanger. Please visit www.gameranger.com, download Gameranger client and make new account. You can find other Midway players in the Gameranger rooms. BS:M patch 1.1.1 is required to play online battles. Iowa Mission Pack and Midway Modders Mappacks 1 and 2 are recommended.

I created that topic to be sure all know problems bugs or things to do will be resolved before release. Please feel free to add your opinions and new entries.

- Engano - check airfield textures for blinking - fixed
Truk : Aifields and shipyards are too easy to destroy - fixed
- Engano - change flying deck texture on Wasp - fixed
- Engano : 1 costalgun can't be destroyed - fixed
- Engano - change flying deck texture on Enterprise - fixed
- Engano - one Judy dark leopard scheme texture must be fixed - fixed
- Engano - one AA cannot be destroyed- fixed
- Engano - hangar on the water off the map - A1 - fixed

Just to note somthing about this problem
- Truk Engano Moresby - autolaunch for dupe planes.

I have tried a bit to figure out the problem and it eludes me terribly, I believe the answer lies inside the MMOD's which seem to give it some sort of classing of what kind of unit it is so the game engine can respond in return on the auto launcher, however since we have duped the same unit I think there is some sort of ID number to each model inside each MMOD, if there is two ID's for a single model the duped unit's ID is ignored so the game wont really register all the information we wanted on the duped unit, this theory of mine seems to explains why the iowa mission pack levels auto launcher works without any of the new unit coding having to be in the global files so I figure it may have something to do with the duped. units.

Well in my opinion unless we can figure out an alternative fix to this, we should just have a go with only one plane texture for each plane, cause although the new textures makes the old planes look awesome, its not a necessary feature to make the map run and or effects map balancing.

2nd on Kwajalien, whats wrong with the DD's? I kinda ran outta harbor space cause the island only had like 3 slots so I just kinda put them parallel to the island.

3rd on sounds, consider it done =P talked with GFD about this one

but its not a choice! Imagine that, we can add new units, new planes? what in that case ? we can't add them because they cannot autolaunch ? Dupe plane is like a new plane.

Wildcat, Dauntless, Avenger are in prepatch.

We can't change them without Dupe Unit. Or they will be changed for all the game !

So : autolaunch will run with dupe unit if original unit isn't here ? right ?

One of them can't go away with IA. he is blocked.

And some ships are positionning on the border of the island, not in the water. And at beginning, falling in the water with a noise.

Yesterday last problem with autolaunch duped planes was fixed. At this moment in our opinions maps are bugsfree and balanced well.

Just out of curiosity what was the fix to make dupe units auto launch? I suspect it was a stupid little mistake we were making or missing a small error

  • Legendary Da : Hi everyone, I have one (or two) quick question about BS:M modding. I try to figure out sp mapmaking, and my first act on it was to convert a MP map to SP. However I can only play as Allies in those maps. What parameter do I have to change to play those maps as Japanese in the respective map .mpak (And where is the parameter I have to change?)?

  • The Dictator : Makeo67 i've explained how to find the unused slots in the topic and the mmod2txm it's a program that has been shared. However there aren't so many ships with unused platforms and sme of them are in wrong positions and for move them you need to know how to change the mmod file. But if you know how to do it you can make new platfors as you want. I've shared the south dakota disposition and this one is the most intersting in my opinion

  • Mokeo67 : I tried changing the bogue class carrier to a yorktown class in the phillipene sea mission and one of two things happened. The mission either didnt change or the game crashed.

  • Axis_Crusher : specific mission’s 3_scene mpak file by working on the .lua file. There is where the bonus unit is actually added into the mission (by the script). I haven't tried it myself so good luck.
  • Axis_Crusher : I assume you are talking about the bonus units that you unlock for certain missions by completing previous ones (like the B - 25’s in the 2nd Battle of Guadalcanal). The bonus units are unlocked by completing certain objectives in the campaign - so that is linked to your campaign progress. Since that cannot be altered you must look at the missiontree.lua file. This is where the unit will show up unlocked on the mission screen. There are references to allunitslock. Also you will have to edit the
  • Mokeo67 : Thank you I will look in this file. I did unlock all the campaign missions, all you have to do is delete the text after 'prerequisite' and it will unlock. But I havent figured out how to unlock the bonus units.
  • Axis_Crusher : I also prefer it being off, just as most of the BSM community. Most players, however prefer repair to be enabled so that is what we should do. Most of our maps it will be disabled through the script however. If you want to play with the game's repair settings you can find it under shipglobals.lua
