battle of thermopyles in the history was made 480 BC "300 SPARTANS VS 2.050.000 PERSIANS"
in this battle spartans was close to victory... but they have been betraid by a noob. Well many noobs in BSM, lets see if usa can still hold that passage!!!
usa must hold the passage!!! no enemy BB must pass throught!!! ( i dont know about those cas i think i must replace them with dds)

Xmas islands is 1V1 battle. THE KEY ON THAT MAP IS THE 1V1 BATTLE IN THE MIDLE OF THE MAP!!!

In my opinion we could try to find Pacific battle similar to the Battle of the Thermopylae. I thought about Battle of South Seas/Kokoda Trail/Battle of New Guinea?

The first map seems like a 100% land slide victory for the americans everytime.

But the 2nd map I find very interesting, I cant wait to try that one.

i've been helping Tipsy with his giude a lot and had very little time to make a new map

good news is that the guide contains a lot of info now (not everything yet)

so when its releast the maybe we can finally set up a modd team so you guys can make these maps yourself

thats good

remember you'll have to learn a lot and even then its a monks job (meaning you have to be patiënt cause it takes a very  long time)

also one of the main things you'll need to edit mp maps is 2 computers to check if your map works

Ok Nemesisgr heres my thoughts of how to balance the battle of Thermopyles.
since the Americans have air superiority and the Japanese force has no counter air power, pretty much aerial strikes will hit hard on the Japanese BB's long before they are able to knock out the CV and the Air base since there will be units to stand in their way. 2nd the CV will further make it harder on the Jap force if you break away and defeat one of the four forces then the CV can make an escape and it will be hell to pay for the Japanese.


So first lets get rid of the mobile CV air base the Americans have and give them a 2nd static airbase on the north island.
next lets remove one of the 2 harbors and put it on the other side of the island or on the southern island.

We could add a 4th destroyer and split them up putting 2 on each side of the islands. when separated their torpedo volley will be reduced.

Now whats really itching me is the fact that each of the 4 Japanese forces is equally made, if you lose your 2 DD's which will probably happen in the first wave of air strikes, then your BB's are a sitting duck against one of the four subs. The only way I can think of countering that is adding 2+ PT boat to each force in each corner since it would force enemy planes to stick around longer if they want to strafe the PT boats resulting in more plane losses.

Apart from that it should balance it a bit more, by separating the NE DD force, removing CV and adding an airbase in its place, and adding 2+ PT boats to each Japanese force. 

I hope I didn't balance it too much in favor of the japs ^^

I think "Battle of Xmas Islands" can do a good idea for mappack3

Maybe removed units and shipyards in middle of the map.
