Since december 2012 Battlestations: Midway is supported by GameSpy no longer. The only one possibility for Midway players is GameRanger. Please visit www.gameranger.com, download Gameranger client and make new account. You can find other Midway players in the Gameranger rooms. BS:M patch 1.1.1 is required to play online battles. Iowa Mission Pack and Midway Modders Mappacks 1 and 2 are recommended.

So apparently there is alot more units to create.
The list in enormous. I am overwhelmed, too much to do for one person. I am feeling exhausted as much as I love to make models.

BUT, modelling is not hard and anyone can do it. You dont need a powerful PC, no fancy graphics cards needed. Theres even trial version of RHINO 4.0 ( which I can send a link, if you private message me) and this is all you need to make: airplanes, ships, military vehicles like tanks, trucks, artillery, and buildings.

I am creating this topic because we need a team of modellers who get to making them when we get the requests for new units from our awesome modders for new units.
Apparently alot of very awesome maps are being sidetracked just because units are not available.

So give it a try, lets Skype together and I can give tutorials live.

If your gonna be serious in modeling a trial version wont suffice. You will want something like Gmax which is free but not as powerful but you dont also have to shelve out the money for the full version.

TBH we should really head over to moddb and seek additional 3d artists there or from somewhere else, teaching someone from scratch isnt a particularly effective way to get more people to do it in a timely fashion. I believe we have searched before with little results we should defiantly try again.

Currently we have enough 3D models done by Swarthy and there is (time consuming) problem with importing these models to the BSM (that's why i want to learn it).  There is no idea for new maps, these models (units) needs to be tested long and carefully. I think more 3D Models isn't good idea. Swarthy job is really enough for us.

At this moment we don't even have a test map for new units.

Ask and ye shall receive EST. Lost my original Test map since I had to reformat my HD so ill have to recreate it, which doesnt sound like funzors for me. Ill contact you via skype whenever I get it done again and give you a copy of it. Odds are I wont include the more unused/usless units like last time which include tankers, cargo ships, LSD's LCPD's and probably the ship carried seaplanes.

btw swarthy nice models, didnt get around to saying it till now ab

  • The Dictator : Makeo67 i've explained how to find the unused slots in the topic and the mmod2txm it's a program that has been shared. However there aren't so many ships with unused platforms and sme of them are in wrong positions and for move them you need to know how to change the mmod file. But if you know how to do it you can make new platfors as you want. I've shared the south dakota disposition and this one is the most intersting in my opinion
