Battlestations Midway and GameSpy problems...

cover Battlestations MidwayEvery single game is crashing or terminated before the end. You don't know why this is happening? There is an explanation from GameSpy. I know it's not exactly comforting, but BF1942 players have been waiting for a fix for 10 days, and Cossacks players have been waiting for that fix 2 weeks or more.

Battlestations Midway cover

Yesterday Tipsy3000 released his mod. It's available for download from Megaupload server. If You do not read previous post, the main idea for Realism Mod is to bring you a more historical feel and more realstic gameplay experience of naval combat on the high seas and in the skies with planes. And it's done. All ships and planes have their historical speed, turning speed, accelerating and deccelerating speed, armor, changed range for guns and torpedos. There are also new bombs and torpedo types. With Realism Mod Battlestations Midway is no longer arcade shooter game, it becomes simulator game (but still withour additional screens or rooms with triggers, switchers and another that stuff known from other naval sim games, Silent Hunter for example).

Square Enix comes clean on cuts and closure

Phil Rogers - CEO of Square Enix EuropeToday we found interesting info about developpers from Eidos Hungary [developer of the Battlestations series] and the interviews with Phil Rogers, european boss of Square Enix (they bought Eidos Company last year). There is the interesting (for us) part of this informations and interviews. That can exaplain, why official site is abandoned and spammed. Informations and interviews are taken from Develop Online.

The CEO of Square Enix Europe has braved a number of questions surrounding the publisher’s decision to cut staff at Io Interactive, virtually close a programming department at Beautiful Game Studios, and shut down operations at Eidos Hungary.

Phil Rogers sportingly took on all questions during the second half of his interview with Develop, though the first half of the Q&A session – in its broader context – was positive of the group’s recent successes and bold plans for the future.

The CEO confirmed for the first time that Square Enix had closed down its Eidos Hungary studio.
